About the Journey: The first day of this hike passes through the rolling hills of Dundas Vally Conservation Area with it's many creeks and 3 waterfalls. Day two seems to be a mostly flat hike along the escarpment's edge in a thin belt of forest spared from the surrounding development. If we feel up to taking a little detour there are another 2 waterfalls. Day 3 continuing in the forest along the escarpment's edge we pass Stoney Creek with great views of Lake Ontario finally ending up in the country side. And The views continue to our destination in Grimsby :) We will then head a short drive down the road to a Swiss Chalet (5 Windward Drive, Grimsby) to have dinner and talk about our experiences before heading home :)
Hamilton, Land of Waterfalls & Swift Creeks

hills, uneven terrain and maybe some muddy areas.
Cost: $10 (supports our club so we can continue to provide fun low cost trips). + Cost of carpool will be shared equally. Total cost is estimated at less than $30/person Carpool Area: Brampton Go Train Station/Square One Shopping Center (this will be planned in emails). | |

Let your inner-child have fun in the snow! Come with us Big Kids as we build a snow fort that is fun and functional! Quinzees are a survival shelter made completely of snow. They are built by piling a mound of snow, letting it settle and then carving out the inside. When finished they look something like an igloo.
We will make it big enough (or a few connected) so that the whole group will be able to go in and enjoy the warmth.
Itinerary: We will meet at 11:00am McDonald's Restaurant 17 Worthington Ave. Brampton (near Go Train). Carpool to a snowy place (still to be determined). Do our build and then enjoy fire and some wine or a hot coco in our cozy snow home. And head back to the carpooling location.
For the daring adventure enthusiast, there is the option of having dinner and staying the night in the Quinzee!
Please insure you enroll below :)
Group size is limited to 12 people.

Walking in the forest during the midnight light of the full moon should be very
beautiful! Most of the leaves are off the trees now, so the hope is w e
might be able to go without using our flashlights sometimes :) I expect
we will be walking slow (about 2-3km/hour), so the hike should take
about 2.5hours to complete.

hours and stop off at a place on the way back for hot coco, snacks and
to chat about the adventure.
We will try to do most of the hike without using our flashlights but make sure you have one just in case :)
